School Photoshoot

Photographer Brian Farrell recently visited a number of our classes to capture the joy of learning a musical instrument. Check out some of the images below.

in 2021-22, our subsidised school programmes will run in over 40 schools and reach thousands of young people across Sligo. One of our key values is access, we want everyone to have the opportunity to learn music regardless of their background.

In our Discovering Music programme, learners explore different instruments, play fun games and take part in classroom performances. From 3rd class onwards they can learn an instrument for 12 or 25 weeks. We currently offer the guitar, ukulele, keyboard, violin, cello and singing. Our Con Tutti programme caters for children with Autism and other learning abilities. The ethos of the programme ensures that it includes all of the aspects of our other programmes but in a way that meets every child’s needs in a non-intrusive way.

Applications for our programmes will open again in May 2022. If you would like more information please email [email protected]

Music Generation Sligo runs in partnership with Sligo Education Centre, Sligo County Council Arts Office and Mayo Sligo Leitrim ETB.
